In the heart of the Commonwealth, there are some church ruins called The Old North Church. It can be found east of Pickman Gallery and north of Faneuil Hall.

The Railroad has its hidden headquarters in the Old North Church. A little tunnel channel that leads to the secret entrance is located in front of the railroad’s headquarters.

Background

The Old North Church, which was constructed in 1723, is Boston’s oldest still-standing church. It is also the tallest church in Boston because of its 191-foot steeple.

In an effort to arm the rebels, British Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith marched to Concord that evening, April 18, 1775, with the assistance of 700 other British soldiers.

Longfellow’s famous line, “One if by land, two if by water,” was inspired by Robert Newman’s use of two lamps to warn Patriots that the Redcoats were approaching up the Charles River using a scheme designed by Paul Revere.

The American Revolutionary War was officially launched by the battles of Lexington and Concord that followed. Major John Pitcairn, a British Army officer who participated in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and William Shippard are buried in the basement crypt of the structure.

The area seems to have been taken over by savages in the year 23. However, it is actually the covert headquarters of the synth-liberating Railroad, located beneath the ancient landmark in the catacombs.

Layout

The church is in complete disrepair. The abandoned interior is mostly populated by savage ghouls and offers nothing in the way of plunder. The steeple and rooftop of the church are accessible by stairs to the west.

The catacombs, which are accessible through a stairwell next to the altar in the east, are where the true appeal is. A small, rotatable Freedom Trail marker can be seen near the end of the catacombs. Access to the Railroad HQ is granted by using the letters on the edges to spell out RAILROAD.

On the other side of the circular table is the rest area, where Drummer Boy and Glory are situated (Deacon will also be here if the Sole Survivor chose not to take him as a follower or elected not to send him to a settlement upon dismissal). P.A.M.’s room is to the left, and the lower portion of the table in it has her terminal and numerous sizable computers.

All the railsigns are displayed on a chalkboard that is mounted on the wall. Left of the rest area is a different egress from the HQ. North of the church, this egress links to an escape tunnel that goes directly to a derelict structure with a chained entrance on the ground.

In an effort to arm the rebels, Lieutenant Colonel Smith marched to Concord that evening, April 18, 1775, with the assistance of 700 British soldiers.

Robert Newman ascended to the top of this church and ignited two lamps as part of a scheme hatched by Paul Revere to warn the populace that the Redcoats were approaching from the Charles River. Thus was born the famous Longfellow adage, “One if by land, two if by sea.” The subsequent conflicts at Lexington and Concord served as the catalyst for the American Revolution.
